This sucks. Add it to the fact that the Lupe Fiasco album came out yesterday overhyped as hell, and underwhelming as the Grey’s Anatomy commercials I’ve seen everywhere, you’ve got me sitting here with a dumb look on my face, another pissed off listener.
The Clipse’s long delayed “Hell Hath No Fury” has become the non-heavyweight (Jay & Nas with new records in the same fiscal quarter? Fucouttahere!) album that’s gonna be worth the cash. After seeing Pusha T and Malice with the ReUp gang at the Knitting Factory back in March*, and getting a free copy of We Got It 4 Cheap Vol. 2, I knew their next album would be some instant-get-that-shit, but now when I see them at the Knitting Factory again, they’re added to the CMJ bill, they are going to be even more label furious than ever.
Let this be a lesson: the minute you say that the drama’s coming to an end, that it’s gonna find you and rip your sack off like a paper towel.
But, I’ve got the new Chuck Klosterman, so things can’t be that bad.
*Check out the fourth photo of the concert, the arm with the tan longsleeve on it, that’s mine.
